The PICRAT Framework

PICRAT provides a simple way to analyse and improve technology use in the classroom. It combines two dimensions:

• Student relationship to technology: Are students consuming, interacting, or creating?
• Teacher use of technology: Does tech replace, amplify, or transform the learning experience?

While moving toward Creative-Transformation often represents higher-level technology use, every cell has its place. The appropriate approach depends on your learning objectives, available time, and student needs.
